About Erin Elder
Erin Elder is a Canadian visual artist and fine art photographer based in Toronto. Her work investigates memory, abstraction, and visual rhythm through both photographic practice and constructed imagery. Her images explore perception, time, and the ways light, form and spatial structure shape the emotional and narrative experience.
Her work is grounded in the photographic tradition while resisting the limits of documentation—merging observational image-making with conceptual exploration. Elder’s recent series, including Deconstructed Stories, utilizes repetition and organic geometry to examine systems of order, fragmentation, and reflection.
Her visual practice is informed by years of editorial leadership, image direction and creative strategy - making her process both intuitive and meticulously constructed. Alongside her artistic practice, Erin has built an accomplished editorial and creative career. She led the photography division at The Globe and Mail and Asiaweek magazine, and was a contract freelancer at Maclean's Magazine. She has held senior creative leadership roles, including Director of Creative Studio and Business Partnerships at Arterra Wines Canada, and currently manages the Canadian Field Research Photography division at CoStar Canada.
Her collectors tend to be urban dwellers with a sharp eye for meaningful design—those who value art not just for beauty but for how it changes the way they see. Erin’s work is represented by Art Interiors, and her pieces are found in homes where thoughtful aesthetics meet personal connection.
Approachable and engaged, she welcomes conversations with curators, collaborators, and buyers seeking artwork that rewards both emotional and intellectual investment. For inquiries, please get in touch.
